If you've ever stood in a checkout screen wondering whether to buy two bundles or three, you're not alone. It's one of the most common questions we get at Naturyl Textures — and getting it wrong means either a thin, patchy install or wasted money on hair that doesn't fit your head.
Here's the honest breakdown.
The short answer
For most natural hair sew-ins, two to three bundles is the sweet spot. But the exact number depends on four things: your desired length, your head size, whether you're using a closure or frontal, and how much leave-out you plan to use.
By length
- 12"–16": 2 bundles is usually enough. Shorter lengths are naturally denser so the wefts pack closer together.
- 18"–24": 3 bundles is the most popular choice and what most of our customers order. This is our Full Bundle Set.
- 26" and above: Plan for 4 bundles. Longer hair loses density toward the ends so you need extra coverage to keep it looking full from root to tip.
Texture matters too
Curly and coily textures naturally take up more space than straight hair, which means you can often get away with fewer bundles for the same fullness. If you're installing our Coily or Kinky Weft Extensions, two bundles frequently achieves what three bundles of straight hair would. Our Yaki texture sits in between — it has more body than straight hair but lies flatter than a tight curl.
Closure vs. leave-out
Using a closure or frontal frees up track space at your hairline, which means you typically need one fewer bundle than a full leave-out style. With a 4x4 closure and medium-length hair, two bundles often covers the rest of your head comfortably.
Our bundle options at Naturyl Textures
- Single Bundle (1 × 100g) — best for adding thickness or length to shorter styles
- Full Bundle Set (2 × 100g) — our most popular option, ideal for 18"–22" installs
- Glam Bundle Set (3 × 100g) — for longer lengths or anyone who wants maximum volume
