Hair Care

Caring for natural hair doesn’t have to be complicated. Between shrinkage, moisture, and protective styling, we created this Hair Care Guide to make things easier. Naturyl Textures extensions are designed to blend with your real texture while keeping your hair protected underneath. Use this guide to wash, detangle, and maintain your hair and extensions so you can enjoy effortless, healthy styling every day.

Texture-Specific Care

Tight, springy coils that need moisture and definition.
Use rich, creamy products like Shea Moisture Manuka Honey or Design Essentials Almond & Avocado.
Define coils with The Doux Big Poppa or a light twist cream.
Keep hair hydrated by moisturizing or misting daily if worn as a sew-in.

Dense, full, and versatile texture that needs moisture and stretch.
Co-wash weekly and use Aussie Moist Conditioner for slip.
Style with The Doux Mousse Def or African Pride Curl Cream.
Avoid over-manipulation; finger-detangle more than combing.

Refresh curls with a water and leave-in mix between washes.

Avoid alcohol-heavy products that dry the hair.
Never use excessive heat or bleach as this can damage the cuticle permanently.

If sleeping in them, use a satin bonnet or silk pillowcase nightly.

General Care for All Textures

Wigs & Clip-Ins: Every 2–3 weeks or as needed based on product buildup.
Sew-Ins & Weft Installs: Every 1–2 weeks depending on how often you apply products or experience dryness.
Ponytails: Wash only as needed, about once every 3–4 wears.

All textures love moisture and balance. Choose sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoos to avoid stripping the hair.

1. Always detangle before washing.
2. Start by finger-detangling gently to remove knots.
3. Follow with a wide-tooth comb from ends to root.

Use a light leave-in conditioner or curl cream after washing. For added hydration, follow with a few drops of a light oil like argan, jojoba, or almond oil.
